Lauderdale County Solid Waste Department provides residential garbage
collection for all of Lauderdale County excluding Florence City Limits
and Lexington City Limits. Residential garbage collection is
$21.00 per month for one day per week collection using
county-provided carts.
Bagged household garbage only should be placed in garbage
containers. Containers should not be overloaded and should not contain:
- Hot ash
- Liquids
- Hazardous materials
- Bio-hazards
- Cardboard
- Yard waste
- Batteries
- Construction materials
- Wet paint cans
Please place household garbage at the curb by 6:30 A.M.
on collection day. Placing containers out the night before is highly recommended.
Landfill Services
The county operates a C&D landfill located at:
5700 Highway 157 N (Cloverdale Road)
Florence, AL
The landfill accepts building debris, trees and limbs, paper, tires,
appliances without Freon, and similar waste materials. Household garbage
is also accepted at the transfer station.
Lauderdale County residents may dispose of items free of charge by
presenting a current utility bill and identification as proof of residence.

Residents outside Florence City Limits and Lexington City Limits may
request yard debris pickup by calling:

Brush piles must follow these guidelines:
- Maximum height: 4 feet
- Maximum length: 10 feet
- Maximum depth: 5 feet
- Place within 2 feet of roadway right-of-way
- Keep 5 feet away from mailboxes, vehicles, fences, and poles
- Do not place in ditches or under utility lines
